Liam Payne, former member of the global boy band One Direction, is reportedly leaving a significant portion of his wealth to his son, Bear. International outlets, including Sky News and the Daily Mail, confirmed that Payne’s assets, worth approximately AUD$109 million (₱4 billion), will be inherited by his only child, whom he shares with ex-partner Cheryl Cole.
The singer, who rose to fame at 16, amassed a considerable fortune through his music career, endorsements, and other ventures. Payne notably had successful collaborations with Hugo Boss in 2019 and 2020, contributing to his wealth.
In 2021, he sold his Calabasas mansion, once described as “haunted,” to singer Halsey for $10 million (₱575 million). Payne also ventured into the NFT market with his digital artwork collection, “Lonely Bug,” which gained popularity upon its release.
In a 2022 interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Payne expressed his commitment to ensuring Bear’s financial security. “My life now is his, my money is his,” he said. He mentioned creating businesses that Bear could manage or sell in the future, stating, “That’s his choice.”
Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, after falling from a hotel window in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31. According to the autopsy, he died due to multiple traumatic injuries. No foul play was suspected.
