Leila de Lima declares P10.78 million net worth, renews call for full SALN transparency

Mamamayang Liberal party-list Representative Leila de Lima has disclosed her Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), showing a total net worth of ₱10.78 million as of July 2025.

According to the document released Friday, De Lima listed ₱1.49 million in real properties, which include seven parcels of agricultural land, and ₱9.29 million in personal assets. Her declared personal properties cover private insurance worth ₱900,000, furniture valued at ₱850,000, appliances amounting to ₱535,000, and two vehicles—a Mitsubishi Estrada worth ₱1.09 million and a Mitsubishi Montero worth ₱1.564 million.

She also declared ₱3.1 million worth of jewelry and ₱1.251 million in cash on hand and bank deposits. The report noted that De Lima had no declared liabilities, nor any relatives in government or business interests to disclose.

De Lima reaffirmed her stance that the public has the right to access officials’ SALNs.

“Hindi naman talaga dapat itinatago at pahirapan ang pagsasapubliko ng SALN,” she said, emphasizing the need for transparency.

She added that she and other Liberal Party lawmakers are pushing for the mandatory release of all public officials’ SALNs—including those of the President and Vice President—through a proposed People’s Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.

“This [FOI] measure must be urgently passed to strengthen our fight for transparency and accountability,” De Lima stressed.

Other House members who have made their SALNs public include Representatives Chel Diokno, Percival Cendaña, Dadah Ismula, Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao, Antonio Tinio, Sarah Elago, Renee Co, Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga, and Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.

Earlier, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla issued a memorandum removing restrictions on the public release of SALNs, including the previous requirement for an official’s consent before disclosure, urging other government branches to adopt the same policy.
