Kuwaiti man jailed 14 years for killing Filipino domestic worker

Kuwait’s Criminal Court has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to 14 years in prison for the brutal killing of his Filipino domestic worker, according to a report by Al Abdle News.

Court records showed that the victim endured repeated beatings with a stick, forced confinement inside the employer’s home, and denial of medical care despite her worsening condition. Despite the abuse, she was compelled to continue working until her death.

The man attempted to hide the crime by burying the woman’s body in the garden of his residence in the Saad Al Abdullah neighborhood. While the accused was referred to a psychiatric facility during investigations, the court ruled he was fully responsible for his actions.

In addition, the court handed one-year prison terms with hard labour to his father, brother, and expatriate wife for helping conceal the crime and failing to report it to authorities.
