Kuwait court orders psychiatric evaluation for Filipina domestic worker accused of infant’s death

Kuwait’s Criminal Court has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for a Filipino domestic worker accused of killing an infant by allegedly placing him in a washing machine. The accused, however, denied the charges, claiming that the child was found drowned in a bucket of water.

The case, which occurred in Sabah Al-Salem, has drawn significant legal scrutiny. The Public Prosecution, led by Dr. Walid Al-Azmi and Deputy Prosecutor Taiba Al-Ansari, has urged the court to impose the death penalty. A forensic report revealed that the child’s body showed no signs of fractures.

According to the investigation, the Ministry of Interior’s Operations Room received a report about a one-and-a-half-year-old infant who was unconscious and rushed to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, the child did not survive. The family claimed they heard the child scream and found the domestic worker allegedly placing him inside the washing machine.

Authorities emphasized that the case is being closely monitored to ensure justice and uphold public security.
