Kris Aquino unlikely to run for politics due to health, says Boy Abunda

Veteran TV host Boy Abunda addressed rumors about his close friend, Kris Aquino, possibly running for a political position. Speaking in an interview, Boy expressed doubt that Kris, given her current health condition, would be entering politics soon.

“I doubt. She needs to be healthy muna bago siya kumandidato,” Boy shared, emphasizing the importance of her well-being before considering such a step.

While Boy did not see Kris in the political arena anytime soon, he hinted that her youngest son, Bimby, might have political aspirations in the future. Reflecting on a conversation with Bimby, Boy said, “‘Do I see you in politics Bimb?’ It didn’t shock me. From what I recall, his answer was, ‘Why not?’”

Boy further mentioned that if Kris were in better health, he wouldn’t completely dismiss the possibility of her running. “Kris is familiar with that world. She’s bright, and I wouldn’t discount the possibility if she were healthy,” he added.

However, Boy noted that the demands of politics are physically challenging, which could be a concern given Kris’s current condition. “Politics is physically toxic… but if you ask me what her condition is now, I really don’t know until I see her.”

As a friend, Boy said he would encourage Kris to run if she were in good health, calling it an “interesting” prospect.
