Kris Aquino shares photos of bruises, fever during two-week lupus flare

Kris Aquino once again opened up about her ongoing health battle, sharing a raw glimpse of what it’s like to experience a lupus flare.

In a recent Instagram Reel, the media personality posted clips and images of her bruised body, red patches on her face, and visibly frail frame. One scene showed her body temperature climbing above 38 degrees Celsius. She revealed that she has been enduring a lupus flare for over two weeks.

“This is MY NOW… I wanted you to see the pain and struggle so that you will continue to pray,” Kris said in the caption.

Lupus flares are episodes where symptoms resurface or worsen, according to the Lupus Foundation of America. These flares can be triggered by stress, fatigue, infections, or even emotional strain, and may include unexplained fevers that aren’t caused by infections.

Kris also showed moments of her treatment and care, including her doctors closely monitoring her and her son, Bimby, staying by her side.

The outpouring of support was instant, with messages from celebrities like Gary Valenciano, Iza Calzado, Cherry Pie Picache, and Francis Libiran offering prayers and encouragement.

Earlier this year, Kris revealed she had been diagnosed with a seventh autoimmune condition—Fibromyalgia—but clarified she had been cleared of cancer. Despite her condition, she made a surprise public appearance in February at the People Asia People of the Year 2025 awards night, showing support for her longtime friend, designer Michael Leyva.
