Kris Aquino debunks death hoax, shares update on health battle

TV host and actress Kris Aquino has once again refuted false reports claiming her death, saying she remains in isolation as she continues treatment for her multiple autoimmune diseases.

On Friday, Oct. 17, Aquino addressed the latest online death hoax through an Instagram post, calling out the use of an AI-generated photo depicting her as gravely ill.

“Friends have been sharing with me probably the 80th bad taste ‘wishing KRIS dead post’ BUT FROM THE PERSON in that sick post YOU ARE A LIAR!” she wrote. She shared that the fabricated story falsely described her collapsing at a family event, alongside an altered image showing her “fighting for [her] life.”

Aquino posted a recent photo of herself reading a James Patterson novel on her iPad to disprove the rumors.

She also opened up about her ongoing health struggles, revealing that her recent infusion treatment caused adverse reactions. “Within 3 days I could have a stroke, a heart attack, an aneurysm or cardiac arrest,” she said, explaining that her team of seven doctors had to carefully monitor her due to the risks.

Despite her condition, Aquino said her pulmonologist and cardiologist approved her treatment, expressing gratitude for their guidance. “Thank God they did,” she added.

Currently, Aquino remains in isolation because of her weakened immune system. She said her sons Josh and Bimby can only visit her after staying home, showering, and completing a five-in-one test for COVID-19, RSV, adenovirus, mycoplasma pneumoniae, and flu.

Aquino shared that the quiet time in isolation has allowed her to read and reflect. Though not yet in full remission, she said her red facial flares and dry cough have eased.

“Let’s keep praying. God is listening,” she said.

Celebrities and followers, including Carmina Villarroel and Dr. Ging Zamora, expressed support and well-wishes in the comments.

In August, Aquino announced she would undergo six months of preventive isolation in Tarlac. The “Queen of All Media” has been battling several autoimmune conditions, including fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease. She underwent treatment in the United States starting June 2022 before returning to the Philippines in September 2024.
