Kitchie Nadal returns with ‘New Ground’ concert, bridging generations through music

After years away from the limelight, OPM rock legend Kitchie Nadal is stepping back onto center stage with New Ground, a one-night concert that marks not only a comeback but a bold reintroduction of her music to a new generation.

Slated for June 21 at the Araneta Coliseum, the show promises a fusion of nostalgia and reinvention. Long-time fans will be treated to new takes on classics like “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,” “Same Ground,” and “Bulong,” while fresh collaborations with Gen Z artists such as Zild, KAIA, and Skusta Clee aim to broaden her reach.

“They were my chosen artists, and I’m thankful they said yes right away,” Kitchie shared during the press conference hosted by Denise Silva, where media and fans reminisced about the music that once dominated heartbreak playlists and karaoke nights.

The concert’s title, New Ground, reflects her musical evolution. “We’re exploring new ground because of the audience, because of the music,” she said, expressing her excitement to connect with both loyal listeners and first-time fans.

To mark her return, Kitchie is also releasing a new EP featuring updated renditions of her early works like “Run” and “Fire,” along with a new single, “Landas.” These tracks aim to preserve the emotional weight of the originals while showcasing artistic growth.

Now based in Spain, Kitchie hinted at a possible European tour following the Manila leg. “The energy here is different,” she said about performing in the Philippines again. “I was surprised there are still so many people who know the songs, even Gen Z.”

Presented by RG Productions, Black Star Entertainment, Flow Asia, and Air Music, New Ground is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of Kitchie Nadal’s enduring voice and her fearless step into the future of Filipino music.
