A police officer and three others have been charged with the kidnapping and serious illegal detention of Catherine Camilon, a missing beauty queen. Colonel Jean Fajardo, spokesperson for the Philippine National Police (PNP), announced that the complaints were filed at the Prosecutor’s Office of Batangas City.
Two of the suspects have been identified: Major Allan De Castro and Jeffrey Arreola Magpantay. The identities of the other two suspects remain undisclosed, referred to as “John Does” in the complaint sheet.
The case, involving a violation of Article 261 of the Revised Penal Code, was referred by the regional director unit of the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) to the Batangas Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Major Allan De Castro was reportedly the friend Camilon was meeting when she vanished on October 12. Witnesses allege they saw Magpantay and two other men transferring Camilon’s body from her vehicle to another car.
Recently, the PNP located a car matching the description given by witnesses. The abandoned vehicle was found in Barangay Pallocan East and has been taken to Camp General Miguel Malvar in Batangas City for forensic examination.
