KC Concepcion’s 2008 photo earns spot in Getty Museum collection

A photograph of KC Concepcion taken by renowned celebrity photographer Mark Nicdao has been officially included in the Getty Museum collection in the United States.

Concepcion shared the milestone on her Instagram account on Monday, Jan. 20, expressing admiration for Nicdao’s talent and hard work. The photo, captured in 2008 with Concepcion wearing a Puey Quiñones creation, was among Nicdao’s works exported to the US, as confirmed by a certificate from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

“I’ve always known Mark Nicdao was destined for greatness,” Concepcion wrote, reflecting on their friendship and creative collaborations. She commended Nicdao’s dedication and described his success as “inspiring,” expressing pride in being part of this achievement.

Nicdao’s addition to the Getty Museum marks a significant recognition of Filipino talent on the global stage. The Getty Museum in Los Angeles is known for its extensive collection of art, including photography from its origins to the present day.
