Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo clinched the Best Actress award at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards 2024 for her role in “A Very Good Girl.” The ceremony took place on Sunday, recognizing outstanding achievements in Philippine cinema.
Bernardo triumphed over a competitive field, including Maricel Soriano for “In His Mother’s Eyes,” Charlie Dizon for “Third World Romance,” Marian Rivera for “Rewind,” Sharon Cuneta for “Family Of Two,” and Eugene Domingo for “Becky & Badette.”
Reflecting on her journey, Bernardo shared an emotional message on Instagram, quoting her mother: “One day you said ‘Mama Papa, gusto ko mag artista.’ Wala naman sa family natin ang artista. Pero bata ka palang alam mo na ang gusto mong gawin… Reflecting through your journey, I can say na sobrang proud kami sayo, anak!” She added, “Andito lang kami para sayo. You have earned every bit of this success.”
This victory marks Bernardo’s second recognition by FAMAS; she previously received the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award in 2011.
