Karla Estrada revealed that she struggled to cope with the harsh criticisms directed at her son, Daniel Padilla, following his breakup with Kathryn Bernardo.
During her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Wednesday, Karla admitted that while she respected the former couple’s decision, the public backlash became overwhelming.
“Ang paghihiwalay kasi nila, sa kanila ni Kathryn ‘yon. Sila ang nakakaalam at sila rin ang magpapasya kung paano nila haharapin ito,” she said.
However, what truly upset her were the offensive remarks hurled at Daniel.
“Pero ‘yung salita ng tao na halos hindi mo na makain—sobrang bastos. Hindi ko na kinakaya, parang ikamamatay ko na,” she added, expressing her frustration over the negativity.
Despite her initial reaction, Karla eventually chose to step back and let Daniel and Kathryn handle the situation on their own.
“Ang pinakamagandang ginawa namin ay ipaubaya sa dalawa,” she stated.
Daniel and Kathryn, one of the most beloved love teams in Philippine showbiz, confirmed their split late last year after being together for 11 years.
