Dubai-based Filipino radio presenter Kenneth Aglubo, more popularly known as Johnny Biryani of TAG 91.1, has officially signed off from his long-running evening drive-time program Tag Pack Up Na. His last broadcast aired on August 14, 2025, marking the end of an almost eight-year chapter on one of the UAE’s most popular Filipino radio shows.
“It’s a bittersweet moment, but I’m so grateful for all the love I’ve received,” Johnny wrote in an emotional farewell post on Instagram. “Napakasarap din sa puso na makatanggap ng random messages of appreciation… patunay lang na hindi lang prizes yung habol ng iba sa inyo.”
Gratitude to colleagues and listeners
Johnny looked back on the years he spent engaging the Filipino community with music, trending stories, travel, food adventures, and games. He especially expressed gratitude to his co-host Maria Maldita, describing her as his guide throughout their years of partnership. “Hindi ko ma-imagine na maitatawid ko ang show kung wala ka,” he said, admitting he once worried about their differences but was thankful for their effortless chemistry on air.
He also extended thanks to his bosses and colleagues at TAG 91.1, including Louie Dacosta, Sir Ray, and Sir Heinie, acknowledging their patience whenever his antics created a stir. To his fellow jocks, he offered a playful apology for not always checking their group chat, while appreciating the camaraderie they shared behind the scenes.
Above all, Johnny gave heartfelt appreciation to the listeners who became part of the show—those who tuned in daily, joined contests, or even just dropped messages of support. “Napakarami kong natutunan, nakilala, naging kaibigan at tinuring ko na ring pamilya,” he said.
Closing one chapter, opening another
While his farewell is filled with emotion, Johnny hinted that new opportunities are on the horizon. “Gustuhin ko man na magpatuloy, may mga bagay na kailangan nating i-give up for growth at para na rin sa better opportunities,” he explained. Though he did not reveal details, he teased that something exciting is coming next, saying only that he has signed an NDA.
His departure from Tag Pack Up Na marks a major transition for the Filipino radio scene in Dubai. Since joining TAG 91.1 in 2018, Johnny Biryani has become a household name among kababayans, with his infectious humor, quick wit, and signature banter leaving a lasting imprint on the community.
