Jillian Ward shuts down ‘sugar daddy’ and Chavit Singson rumors on TV interview

Actress Jillian Ward has addressed rumors linking her to former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson and denied allegations that she has a “sugar daddy,” calling the claims completely false.

In the October 21 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the 20-year-old actress firmly denied ever meeting or communicating with Singson. “Never ko po siyang nakilala. Never ko po siyang na-meet. Never ko siyang nakausap. Never po kaming nagkita,” Ward said, responding to online speculation about a supposed secret relationship with the 84-year-old businessman.

Singson also brushed off the gossip in a separate interview, saying, “Marites lang ’yun,” when asked about the issue.

Ward clarified that her extravagant 18th birthday celebration at Okada Manila in 2023 was not funded by Singson, explaining that GMA Network served as one of the sponsors and that she personally covered the remaining expenses.

The Abot-Kamay na Pangarap star also addressed claims that she is a “sugar baby,” saying the rumors began during the pandemic when social media users questioned her ability to buy a Porsche Boxster at 16. She said she purchased the vehicle second-hand for ₱1.2 million using money earned from a skincare endorsement.

Ward added that she can present receipts for all her investments and income. Fighting back tears, she said she decided to speak out not for herself but to defend her mother. “I’m so offended for my mother, especially kasi she did not raise me that way,” she said.

Supported by GMA Network, Ward said she is considering filing cyber libel cases against those spreading false information. She emphasized that her interview with Abunda would be the first and last time she would address the issue.
