In a recent interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”, veteran actor Jeric Raval revealed that he has asked actor Aljur Abrenica to consider marrying his daughter, actress AJ Raval. Aljur, currently dating AJ, was urged by Jeric to settle matters with his previous relationship before contemplating marriage.
Raval candidly shared, “I spoke with Aljur initially because AJ is still young. I asked him if he was separated, to which he replied, ‘Yes.’”
Jeric’s concerns weren’t just about the age of his daughter, but also the implications of Aljur’s previous marriage. Jeric pointed out his friendship with actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla, who is the father of Aljur’s estranged wife, Kylie Padilla. He mentioned, “I hope you understand my position; I wouldn’t want to be seen as condoning a relationship with potential issues.”
While addressing Aljur, Jeric added, “First, remember my daughter is still young. Secondly, think about what I would tell your former father-in-law if we met. Lastly, once you’ve sorted everything out, I want you to marry my daughter.”
During the same interview, Jeric also touched upon his daughter’s acting career, expressing his initial discomfort with her taking on sultry roles. He humorously recalled a situation where he pretended to answer a call during one of AJ’s movies to avoid watching her intimate scene, adding, “She’s 21 now, so I have to respect her choices.”
AJ and Aljur confirmed their relationship this past Valentine’s Day, after much speculation. AJ has since emphasized that their romantic relationship started only after Aljur’s separation from Kylie Padilla.
