Jennie Kim from Blackpink and Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V from BTS, are rumored to have ended their speculated relationship. This news arrives just before V’s upcoming military enlistment, slated for next week.
Korean media outlet JTBC released an exclusive report on December 6, claiming that industry insiders have revealed the split between the two stars. The rumors of their relationship first gained momentum in May 2023 after a French photographer, Amar Taoualit, shared images and videos of Jennie and V in Paris, which hinted at a romantic connection.
The speculation started in late 2021 when V followed Jennie on Instagram. In 2022, rumors intensified when V was seen on Jeju Island in a car with someone resembling Jennie. In response to the growing rumors in May 2022, YG Entertainment, Jennie’s agency, remained vague, stating they had no specific comments at the time.
Further fuel was added to the fire in August when leaked photos of the two together surfaced online. These images, whose authenticity was questioned by fans, raised concerns about the invasion of the artists’ privacy. In October, YG Entertainment confirmed that Jennie’s iCloud had been hacked and announced legal action against the circulation of her private photos, citing “indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and violations of personal life.”
While Jennie recently renewed her contract with YG Entertainment, continuing her journey with BLACKPINK, V is preparing for his military service, set to begin on December 11. Both Big Hit Music and YG Entertainment have not officially confirmed the breakup or the existence of the relationship.
