Disc jockey Jellie Aw has officially called off her wedding to ex-fiancé Jam Ignacio, despite his plea to mend their relationship. The DJ remains firm in her decision to pursue legal action against Ignacio over an alleged physical assault.
Speaking on 24 Oras on Friday, Feb. 21, Jellie clarified that while she has forgiven Ignacio, she still believes in holding him accountable.
“Nung una pa lang naman po napatawad ko na si Jam. Pero tutuloy ko pa rin po ‘yung kaso,” she stated. “Wala na pong kasal na magaganap.”
Jellie also highlighted that her decision respects her family’s feelings, especially her mother, who was deeply affected by the incident.
“Respeto na lang rin po sa magulang ko. Kasi sobrang natrauma rin po ‘yung mama ko… Hindi ko kaya na ganon ‘yung nanay ko,” she said.
She further expressed concerns about the possibility of history repeating itself. “Paano po kapag pinagbigyan ko pa po siya ng second chance? Paano kapag napuno po ulit siya sakin? Gagawin niya ulit ‘yon mas grabe pa.”
Jellie previously lodged a complaint against Ignacio at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), leading to a subpoena. Although Ignacio initially ignored the summons, he later appeared before the NBI on Friday to file his testimony.
