Filipino nursing graduates have until April 4, 2025, to apply for employment opportunities in Japan, according to an announcement by the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
In collaboration with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS), Japan aims to recruit 50 registered nurses (Kangoshi) and 300 certified care workers (Kaigofukushishi). These job openings are offered under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA).
Qualified nurse candidates must have an active PRC license, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and at least three years of relevant work experience in hospitals or clinics. Care worker candidates, meanwhile, must either hold a Nursing degree (PRC license not required) or have graduated from a four-year course with a TESDA National Certificate II in Caregiving.
Successful applicants will participate in free Japanese language training for one year—six months in the Philippines followed by another six months in Japan—with daily allowances provided. Following training, candidates will work at hospitals and caregiving facilities in Japan for a period of three to four years.
The Embassy encourages candidates to secure a Japanese national license to extend their employment prospects in Japan.
Interested individuals should register online through the DMW website and submit the necessary documents in person at the Migrant Workers Registry Division of DMW.
Further details are available on the DMW’s official website.
