Japan embassy in Manila working to shorten visa processing to five days

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines is working to streamline its visa screening system to reduce processing time to five working days amid a surge in applications.

In a statement released today, the embassy acknowledged the unprecedented increase in visa requests and assured applicants that efforts are underway to speed up the process.

“The Embassy will continue making efforts to complete the procedures and return the visa within five working days after submission by travel agencies,” the statement read.

Earlier in January, the embassy advised Filipino travelers to apply for a Japan visa at least two months in advance due to the high volume of applications.
