After dedicating time to his music career, actor-singer James Reid is set to return to the acting scene. During the 7th Entertainment Editors Award, Reid revealed his plans for the future, which include both music and acting projects.
“I always said that I am planning to go back to acting after I explore music, and I have a new EP, so I was excited,” Reid shared in an ABS-CBN News report. “There will be a movie project and new projects coming.”
Reid has spent his hiatus from acting exploring his musical talents, producing numerous singles under his label, Careless. He expressed how this period allowed him to discover more about himself through music. “I really wanted to take a pause and discover myself through music. For the past couple of years, I focused on composing music to figure out what I really wanted. And I think I am very happy where I am right now and excited to take what’s next,” he said.
In addition to his music career, Reid has been managing talents, including actress Liza Soberano, who is now pursuing her career overseas. “It’s great. Liza knows exactly what she wants, and I’m just supporting her. Right now, she’s in LA auditioning and taking more projects, so I am very proud of her,” Reid commented.
When asked if he considered exploring the international acting scene himself, Reid responded, “That never really crossed my mind. I wanted to create music from the Philippines that reaches out. Everyone has a different dream, and I wouldn’t say Liza left Philippine show business. She’s doing good, and I am very proud that she’s able to push Filipinos internationally.”
Reid also mentioned the possibility of an acting comeback alongside Soberano. “I think there’s a big possibility, and that could happen,” he said.
With his return to acting on the horizon, fans can look forward to seeing more of James Reid both on screen and in his musical endeavors.
