The popular noontime show “It’s Showtime” will soon be moving to the GMA-7 main channel, as reported by L Guerrero of Pilipino Star Ngayon. The shift comes after negotiations between ABS-CBN, the current network airing “It’s Showtime”, and GMA Network, indicating a nearing completion of the transfer details.
This move marks a new chapter for “It’s Showtime”, which previously relocated to GTV in July, following a decision not to accept TV5’s proposal for a delayed telecast. The slot on TV5 would have positioned “It’s Showtime” in direct competition with a new show hosted by the renowned trio from “Eat Bulaga!” — Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
Currently, GMA-7 fills its noontime slot with Filipino movie broadcasts, a schedule change prompted by the discontinuation of TAPE Inc.’s “Tahanang Pinakamasaya”. The latter’s recent announcement confirmed the show’s termination on March 8, 2024, citing “unwanted circumstances” and the subsequent agreement between TAPE Inc. and GMA Network to end the show.
