Authorities in Dubai and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been mobilized to investigate a Dubai-based vlogger accused of scamming her followers through a fraudulent jewelry investment scheme, Panay News reported. The vlogger, reportedly residing in Jumeirah, enticed followers with promises of lucrative returns on investments in gold jewelry sales from Dubai to the United States.
The complaint was initiated by a nurse based in Los Osos, California, who claims she was duped into sending thousands of dollars to the vlogger. “I was enticed by her engaging online presence, but it soon turned into a nightmare,” the complainant stated. According to her, the vlogger exploited her platform to solicit money allegedly for charitable causes before offering the deceptive investment opportunity.
“I agreed to become a business partner and wired $5,000 as a start. The next day, I was persuaded to add an additional $2,500, followed by another $1,900 for supposed taxes and shipping insurance,” the nurse detailed. Despite assurances, the promised jewelry never materialized, leading to the discovery of numerous similar complaints against the vlogger.
The nurse has since coordinated with other alleged victims and alerted local authorities, hoping to prevent further fraudulent activities. “This needs to stop. She’s exploiting people under the guise of humor and charity,” she added, expressing her determination to see justice served.
