A 26-year-old Indian expat woman from Kerala was found murdered in her Dubai apartment, with authorities confirming that the suspect, a friend of the victim, was apprehended while attempting to flee the country.
The victim, identified as Anniemol Gilda, a credit card marketing executive, was discovered stabbed to death at her residence in Karama on May 4. Dubai Police swiftly acted on the case, arresting the suspect the same day, as confirmed by representatives of Yab Legal Services and INCAS Youth Wing Dubai Chapter, who have been assisting with the legal procedures and repatriation.
Both Anniemol and the accused hail from Kerala, India. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific motive behind the crime, but representatives assisting with the case mentioned that differences in their relationship might have escalated, leading to the tragic incident.
Anniemol’s mortal remains are set to be flown back to her homeland tonight on a flight to Thiruvananthapuram, where her family awaits her return. Salam Pappinisseri, CEO of Yab Legal Services, along with Nihas Hashim from the repatriation team and Loe Abu Abdul Azeez, HR Head, have coordinated the repatriation process.
