An 18-year-old from India has earned a Guinness World Record for having the hairiest face, with an astonishing 201.72 hairs per square centimeter covering over 95% of his face.
Lalit Patidar, diagnosed with a rare condition called hypertrichosis—often referred to as “werewolf syndrome”—has one of only about 50 documented cases worldwide since the Middle Ages. While his condition has drawn stares and unkind remarks, he has learned to embrace his unique appearance.
As a child, Patidar faced fear and rejection from classmates, but over time, people around him realized that beyond his appearance, he was just like everyone else. “They understood I was not so different from them,” he said.
Patidar shares his journey on YouTube, growing his online presence and even appearing on the Italian TV show Lo Show dei Record, where a trichologist officially measured his facial hair density to confirm the record.
Overwhelmed with happiness upon receiving the recognition, he remains unfazed by critics who suggest he should shave. “I tell them that I like how I am and I don’t want to change my look,” he said.
