An Indian expatriate residing in Dubai passed away from a heart attack mere days after the death of his twin brother in India. The Dubai resident, who had made the UAE his home for over eight years, succumbed to the grief of losing his brother, who died of natural causes.
Ashraf Thamarassery, an Indian social worker, shared the heartbreaking story. “The deceased, who was younger than his twin by a few minutes, was devastated by his brother’s passing. He even expressed a wish to have been taken by God instead,” Thamarassery revealed. Tragically, within half an hour of this statement, he passed away.
The man, in his early 40s, was flown back to his native Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India, where he was laid to rest beside his brother following the completion of final rites.
The twin brothers shared an inseparable bond throughout their lives. “Since their school days, they were inseparable, attending the same school and college, sharing the same circle of friends, and remarkably, both marrying twin sisters,” Ashraf recalled. The brother who stayed in India was notably protective of his twin, even taking care of his family while he worked in the UAE. Their daily conversations underscored an unbreakable connection.
The death of the older twin at the year’s start left the Dubai-based brother inconsolable. “He was in constant tears, struggling to eat or sleep,” Ashraf added.
