An Indian fintech professional has struck gold—literally—after winning the region’s first 24K gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck in a raffle at the Dubai Gold Souk Extension.
Someswararao Mungi, 38, was named the grand prize winner of the ‘Shop and Win’ campaign, which ran from November 14 to January 31. The initiative rewarded shoppers with a raffle entry for every AED 500 spent at participating outlets.
Still in disbelief, Mungi, who has lived in Dubai since 2021, expressed his gratitude for the unexpected win. “People say these things happen by chance, but some have told me it could be a reward for past good deeds. It’s a humbling thought,” he said, thanking the Dubai Gold Souk Extension for the life-changing prize.
