Indian expat living alone in UAE wins AED 1 million Big Ticket prize

An Indian expat working as a building watchman in Abu Dhabi has won AED 1 million in the latest Big Ticket e-draw, marking a life-changing moment for the 60-year-old who has spent three decades in the UAE.

According to a Khaleej Times report, Nampally Rajamallaiah, originally from Hyderabad, India, lives alone in Abu Dhabi while his wife remains in India and his children live separately. Despite the solitude, he has persevered to provide for his family’s future.

Rajamallaiah discovered Big Ticket four years ago but only purchased entries occasionally, pooling resources with friends to share the costs. His winning ticket was part of a group effort with 20 close friends.

“When I got the call, I was overwhelmed. Words can’t describe the happiness—it was a pure moment of joy,” Rajamallaiah said. He plans to share the winnings with his friends and use the remainder to secure his family’s future.

“This win has motivated those around me to try Big Ticket, and I will continue participating,” he added, expressing gratitude for his unexpected fortune.
