Imee Marcos calls on Comelec to regulate political surveys, warns of ‘mind-setting’

Senator Imee Marcos is calling on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to step in and regulate political surveys, raising concerns that some polls may be used to sway public perception.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Marcos criticized the increasing number of surveys being released, claiming they serve not only as public opinion snapshots but also as tools for “mind-setting” and “brainwashing.”

She made the remark in response to an OCTA Research survey that assessed the trust and performance ratings of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.

Marcos, who is seeking another term in the Senate in the upcoming May elections, said she has stopped paying attention to survey results—particularly as recent polls show her lagging behind.

Her comments also come amid a rift with her brother, President Marcos, following their opposing views on the controversial arrest and ICC custody transfer of former President Rodrigo Duterte earlier in March.
