ILOE insurance renewal now mandatory for two years instead of one

Employees renewing their Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) insurance will now have to opt for a two-year renewal, as the previous one-year option is no longer available. This change is intended to reduce frequent renewal reminders and provide uninterrupted coverage for policyholders.

To renew, employees must visit the official ILOE website at www.iloe.ae and select the “Subscribe/Renew Here” option. They will need to enter their Emirates ID and mobile number, followed by a one-time password (OTP) verification sent via SMS. Once logged in, the system will display their insurance category, personal details, and the total premium cost for two years. After confirming the details, policyholders can proceed with payment using a credit or debit card. Alternatively, they can renew their subscription in cash at Al Ansari Exchange branches or MOHRE service centres such as Tawjeeh and Tasjeel. Upon successful payment, a confirmation message will be sent.

For example, employees classified under Category A, with a basic salary of Dh16,000 or below, will need to pay approximately Dh126 for a two-year subscription.

The ILOE scheme provides financial protection for employees who lose their jobs due to reasons other than resignation or disciplinary action. It grants eligible workers up to 60% of their basic salary based on their last six months of employment, with payouts available for a maximum of three consecutive months per claim.

Under Category A, which covers employees earning Dh16,000 or below, the insurance premium is Dh5 plus VAT per month, and the maximum compensation is Dh10,000 per month for up to three months. For those under Category B, with salaries exceeding Dh16,000, the premium is Dh10 plus VAT per month, with a maximum payout of Dh20,000 per month for three months.
