IKEA UAE launches Filipino food festival with dishes starting from AED 7

IKEA UAE is marking Philippine Independence Day with a culinary celebration that puts Filipino cuisine front and center. From June 12 to 17, all IKEA Restaurants across the country will serve a curated lineup of traditional Filipino dishes, made in collaboration with renowned Filipino chef JP Anglo.

Diners can enjoy a hearty buffet starting at just AED 7, featuring signature comfort foods like Chicken Arroz Caldo, Filipino-style Spaghetti, and Bihon Noodles. The main offerings include savory classics such as Beef Kare Kare, Bistek Tagalog, Tilapia Escabeche, and Chicken BBQ, priced between AED 25 to AED 39. Guests can also enjoy light bites from soup and salad stations and cap their meal with a sweet serving of Buko Pandan.

For those who wish to bring home a taste of the Philippines, IKEA’s Swedish Food Market now carries a selection of chilled and frozen Filipino favorites, including Abaca Chicken BBQ and Beef Kare Kare starting at AED 19, and larger frozen portions like Chicken Sisig and Bicol Express at AED 35.

Sumit Sachedva, Head of Food at IKEA for the UAE and surrounding countries, said the initiative is part of the brand’s broader effort to celebrate diversity: “This partnership with Chef JP Anglo is a wonderful way to honour our Filipino community… We’re proud to bring authentic Filipino cuisine to our customers in a way that’s accessible and memorable.”

Chef JP Anglo, who leads Dubai’s Kooya Filipino Eatery, echoed the sentiment: “This collaboration with IKEA is not just about the dishes, it’s about sharing stories, memories, and identity through food.”

Fans can meet the chef himself at a special appearance at IKEA Festival City on June 12 at 12 PM, where he will share his culinary journey and the inspirations behind the featured dishes.

The Filipino food festival runs daily from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM at IKEA’s Jebel Ali Festival Plaza, Dubai Festival City, and YAS Island locations. For more details, call 800 IKEA (800 4532).
