Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon minced no words as he called out content creators and individuals who upload footage of tragic accidents for online profit and attention.
Following the recent fatal incidents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Dizon criticized what he described as opportunistic behavior online.
“Huwag niyo namang i-take advantage ‘yung mga trahedya nung mga kababayan natin para mag-post ng mga video nung trahedya sa Internet para lang kumita, para maka-scoop,” he said.
The transportation chief’s remarks come in the wake of disturbing videos circulating on social media showing the SUV crash that killed a 5-year-old child and injured several others at NAIA Terminal 1. The incident has drawn widespread attention, but Dizon reminded the public that the focus should be on compassion for those affected—not on chasing views.
The Department of Transportation is currently conducting a full investigation into the NAIA crash, alongside the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and law enforcement agencies.
