Husband to travel to UAE for personal oversight of Filipina nurse’s death investigation

The Philippine government will sponsor the flight of the husband of a Filipino nurse who was found dead in Abu Dhabi, allowing him to personally monitor the ongoing investigation.

The nurse, who had been missing for three days, was discovered on a highway, with her agency initially reporting that she had died in a car accident. However, her husband remains skeptical and is concerned about the possibility of a cover-up, recalling that his wife often felt uneasy when returning to her dormitory at night.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac announced that the husband’s trip to the UAE aims to ensure his involvement in the investigation and the eventual repatriation of his wife’s remains.

“We are waiting for the results from UAE authorities, and the repatriation of her remains depends on the outcome of the investigation,” Cacdac said during a news forum in Quezon City.

The Filipina nurse, who worked for a home healthcare company, had only arrived in the UAE two months ago. She leaves behind a 12-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter.
