Stargazers in the UAE are in for a treat as the Hunter Supermoon, the biggest and brightest supermoon of the year, will light up the skies on Thursday, October 17.
According to a Time Out Abu Dhabi report, this celestial event arrives just before a rare comet makes its appearance later in the month, adding to the excitement for astronomy enthusiasts.
The Hunter Supermoon, named after the time of year when hunters were most active, will appear especially large and full as it reaches its closest point to Earth, a position known as perigee. This supermoon follows the recent harvest moon and will be the second to last supermoon of the year, with one more expected on November 15.
With the UAE recently intensifying its space exploration efforts through the establishment of a Space Agency, this is a perfect time for residents to look up and enjoy the spectacle.
