Careem, the bike-sharing service, has teamed up with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to offer free bike rentals for those taking part in the Dubai Ride on Sunday, November 10. This initiative is designed to make it easier for both residents and tourists to join the cycling event without needing their own bicycles.
According to a Khaleej Times report, participants can access free bike rentals by visiting Careem Bike’s pop-up stations located at Entrance A (Museum of the Future, Trade Center Street) and Entrance E (Lower Financial Centre Road). To unlock the bikes, participants must use the code DR24 when obtaining a one-day pass. Rentals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Dubai Ride, now in its fifth year, is the largest community cycling event in the region and is open to people of all ages and skill levels. The cycling routes will be accessible starting at 5:00 AM, with the event officially commencing at 6:15 AM and wrapping up by 8:00 AM.
This marks the third consecutive year that Careem has collaborated with RTA for the event, reinforcing their joint commitment to promoting sustainable transportation and enhancing public health and safety.
“We’re excited to support RTA’s efforts once again by providing free bike rentals, making the Dubai Ride more accessible to everyone,” Sami Amin, senior director of operations at Careem, said in the same Khaleej Times report.
Abdulrahman Mohammad Aljanahi, director of Roads Right of Way at the RTA, emphasized that this partnership plays a crucial role in fostering a bicycle-friendly city and promoting the use of eco-friendly transportation.
