Hospital in Dubai successfully rebuilds man’s face after severe accident

Doctors at Aster Hospital, Mankhool, achieved a medical milestone by reconstructing the face of 37-year-old Mr. Mohammad Thausif Kaiyoor Abdulla Kaiyoor, who was left unrecognizable after a road traffic accident. Ranked No.5 on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals in UAE list, the hospital utilized specialized oral and maxillofacial surgery techniques for the complex procedure.

Mr. Kaiyoor, an Indian national and employee at Aster Pharmacy, suffered multiple facial bone fractures and a deep thigh wound after being hit from behind by a vehicle in Sharjah on 12th January 2024. Initially treated for his thigh wound, he was transferred to Aster Hospital for his severe facial injuries.

Under the lead of Dr. Renju Prem, Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a comprehensive treatment plan was developed. The surgery involved open reduction, internal fixation, and reconstruction of the facial skeleton, adhering to a methodical approach for precise alignment and aesthetic restoration.

Post-surgery, Mr. Kaiyoor expressed profound gratitude towards the medical team for their dedication and expertise.
