Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros has made public her 2024 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), declaring a net worth of ₱18.986 million.
According to the document she released on Monday, Hontiveros’ total assets reached ₱19.884 million, consisting of real and personal properties, while her liabilities—mainly a car loan—stood at ₱897,840.
The senator said her decision to share her SALN was part of her ongoing push for transparency and accountability in government. She has consistently called for the removal of barriers to public access to officials’ SALNs, describing such restrictions as “unjust, unconstitutional, and anti-people.”
Hontiveros’ disclosure followed the memorandum issued by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla, which lifted previous restrictions on accessing the SALNs of government officials, including the President, Vice President, heads of constitutional offices, and local government leaders.
Remulla’s directive effectively reversed the 2020 policy under former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, which had required the consent of the SALN owner before release and imposed other access limitations.
