Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros voiced her strong support for Senate Bill No. 2288, which seeks to mandate the establishment of prayer rooms in public offices and establishments across the Philippines.
Speaking during the Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs hearing on January 23, 2025, Hontiveros emphasized the significance of the measure in fostering inclusivity and addressing the needs of the Muslim community.
“Naniniwala din ako na ang bawat lugar dito sa Pilipinas ay dapat may espasyo at panahon para sa lahat ng Pilipino,” she stated, underscoring the importance of creating spaces that reflect cultural diversity and mutual respect.
