The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi released the results of the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The exam, conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), saw a total of 1,439 examinees from Dubai (DXB) and Abu Dhabi (AUH).
The SPLE is a crucial opportunity for OFWs to obtain professional licenses while working abroad. This year’s results highlighted several key achievements and trends across various professions:
Architects: Out of 58 examinees in DXB and 16 in AUH, 40 passed, with a UAE passing rate of 54%, exceeding the national rate of 39%.
Chemical Engineers: Only 1 out of 11 examinees passed, resulting in a UAE passing rate of 9.09%, below the national rate of 26.32%.
Chemists: None of the three examinees passed, reflecting a 0% passing rate both locally and nationally.
Civil Engineers: With 35 passers out of 80 examinees, the passing rate was 20%, slightly lower than the national rate of 22.50%.
Certified Public Accountants: Only 1 out of 20 examinees passed, resulting in a 5% passing rate, well below the national rate of 20%.
Electronic Engineers: Out of 17 examinees, 4 passed, achieving a 23.53% passing rate, which is above the national rate of 20%.
Electronic Technicians: With a 50% passing rate, 4 out of 8 examinees passed, compared to the national rate of 63.63%.
Interior Designers: Only one candidate took the exam and did not pass.
Master Plumbers: 32 out of 46 examinees passed, achieving a 45.65% passing rate, closely aligning with the national rate of 53.07%.
Mechanical Engineers: Out of 30 examinees, 9 passed, resulting in a 30% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 19%.
Medical Technologists: Only 1 out of 8 examinees passed, resulting in a 12.50% passing rate, below the national rate of 13.33%.
Nurses: The largest group of examinees, with 719 participants, had a passing rate of 72%, significantly higher than the national rate of 64%.
Physical Therapists: 4 out of 8 examinees passed, achieving a 50% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 40%.
Professional Teachers (Elementary): 37 out of 64 examinees passed, resulting in a 58% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 52.72%.
Professional Teachers (Secondary): Out of 201 examinees, 118 passed, achieving a 58% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 52.72%.
Psychometricians: 4 out of 8 examinees passed, achieving a 50% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 43.75%.
Radiologic Technologists: Only 1 out of 11 examinees passed, resulting in a 9.09% passing rate, lower than the national rate of 7.32%.
X-Ray Technologists: The only candidate passed, resulting in a 100% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 89%.
Real Estate Brokers: Only 1 candidate took the exam and did not pass.
Registered Electrical Engineers: Out of 25 examinees, 4 passed, resulting in a 17% passing rate, slightly lower than the national rate of 21%.
Registered Master Electricians: 12 out of 17 examinees passed, achieving a 73% passing rate, higher than the national rate of 68%.
Social Workers: Only 1 candidate took the exam and did not pass.
Veterinarians: Only 1 out of 10 examinees passed, resulting in a 10% passing rate, well below the national rate of 30.77%.
