Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz has fulfilled a long-held dream by visiting the chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, a sacred place she felt deeply connected to during the Tokyo Olympics.
In a heartfelt gesture of thanks for her historic gold medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Diaz offered a marble memorial at the chapel.
The weightlifter famously wore a miraculous medal alongside the Philippines’ first Olympic gold during the 2020 award ceremony.
