Hergie Bacyadan wins gold in Asian Kickboxing Championships in Cambodia

Filipino athlete Hergie Bacyadan claimed a gold medal in her debut kickboxing tournament, triumphing in the women’s K1 -70kg category at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on October 12.

Bacyadan secured victory after China’s Teng Jinwei withdrew from the final, following her dominant performance against Cambodia’s Raksa Samnang, which ended in a first-round technical knockout.

The 29-year-old multi-sport athlete from Kalinga has previously excelled in wushu and vovinam, winning silver at the 2017 World Wushu Championships and gold at the 2023 Vovinam World Championships.

Joining Bacyadan in success were fellow Filipinos Jovan Medallo and Carlo Von Bumina-ang, who also secured gold in their respective categories.
