Heart Evangelista has once again been chosen to lead the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI), a long-running non-profit group known for its humanitarian projects across the Philippines.
Evangelista, who first assumed the presidency in June 2024, took her oath before her husband, Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, during the recent induction of SSFI officers. The foundation is composed of the spouses of Philippine senators and has been recognized for providing medical missions, disaster relief, housing assistance for the elderly, and support for underprivileged communities.
Joining Evangelista in the 2025–2026 slate are Nancy Dela Rosa as vice president, Gladys Villanueva as secretary, Erwin Genuino as assistant secretary, Maricel Tulfo as treasurer, and Mark Lapid as assistant treasurer. Emmeline Villar serves as legal counsel, while Mariel Padilla and Ciara Sotto are the group’s public relations officers.
Committee and advocacy heads include Mayor Lani Cayetano (Local Government), Vanessa Era (Women & Livelihood), Timi Aquino (Health & Education), Edna Marcoleta and Usec. Janella Ejercito-Estrada (Social and Public Services), and Frankie Pangilinan (Youth). Kathryna Yu-Pimentel has been appointed as executive director.
The SSFI remains an active force in socio-civic work, bridging the influence of senators’ families with on-the-ground outreach that benefits marginalized groups, disaster-hit communities, and various public service initiatives nationwide.
