Heart Evangelista has addressed criticisms from social media users who questioned her decision to let her dog, Panda, wear a Bulgari Serpenti Viper necklace valued at approximately P11 million.
In an Instagram live session, the actress clarified that the necklace belongs to her, allowing her to do as she pleases with it. “I own the necklace, you know. I can do whatever I want, then pull it out. Basically, Panda owns the necklace,” Heart stated.
She further explained her affection for Panda, describing her as “the most spoiled baby girl” and expressing confusion over the backlash. “I don’t understand why people are making it such a big deal that I put diamonds on her,” she added.
Heart also joked about the practicality of putting diamonds on Panda, suggesting it would be difficult for robbers to steal the jewelry from a dog. “Sometimes I do that also, I put diamonds on her and that’s fine because hindi siya puwedeng makuha kasi mananakawan kayo ng daliri,” she remarked.
The actress emphasized that Panda, a rescued dog, deserves the best, even hinting that Panda is her true heir. “These are aspins or rescued dogs, they deserve the world…So, we’d like to alleviate their look, and, why not?”
The controversy grew when some fans noted that Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach had previously worn the same necklace as Bulgari’s ambassador. The situation sparked a mix of reactions online, with one user humorously commenting, “The Real Queen P.”
