Heart Evangelista consults lawyers to pursue cyber libel cases amid online attacks

Actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista revealed that she has started consulting her lawyers to formally file cyber libel complaints against individuals and groups who have been spreading damaging remarks about her. Speaking candidly during an Instagram Live session, she said the legal action will not only cover bashers but also organizations allegedly working to tarnish her reputation and her endorsements.

Evangelista also shared that she had originally intended to join the Trillion Peso March, but backed out after receiving disturbing threats. According to her, she was warned she would be humiliated if she appeared at the rally. “Huhubaran niyo ako kung pupunta ako sa rally,” she quoted the threats, describing them as cruel and deeply personal.

Supporters were quick to voice their encouragement online, expressing approval of her decision to seek accountability through legal means and assuring her of their protection.

The actress, who is a regular presence at global fashion events, further disclosed that she will not be walking at Paris and Milan Fashion Week this season due to the ongoing controversies in the Philippines. She emphasized that her participation in these shows has always been professional. “I am paid by the brands I walk for,” she stressed, addressing critics who attempt to link her fashion income to her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero.

Evangelista has long been a target of online criticism, but she has become increasingly vocal about drawing boundaries. In earlier interviews, she admitted that harsh remarks used to affect her deeply, even bringing her to tears, but she has since chosen to stand firmer against malicious attacks. On one occasion she declared, “You can bash me with anything … that part [fashion], I’m not really affected.”

The actress also expressed disappointment over comments that question her personal happiness or motherhood, responding in another interview with sharp emotion: “Do you want me to cry blood or something?”
