An eatery in Abu Dhabi, Khushab Darbar Restaurant, was shut down due to poor hygiene in its kitchen and storage areas, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (Adafsa) announced on Friday.
Located in Mafraq Industrial City, Khushab Darbar was found to have repeatedly violated food safety regulations. Adafsa stated, “Several measures have been taken against this establishment due to the poor level of hygiene in food handling and storage areas.”
The violations included unclean equipment and refrigerators, as well as ceilings and floors in poor condition in the preparation area. The closure order will remain in effect until the hygiene issues are resolved.
This follows another recent restaurant closure just a week ago, where food safety violations included the presence of insects in the kitchen.
