Harry Roque’s wife’s Netherlands visa revoked just days after approval

Former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque shared his disappointment after the Netherlands revoked the visa of his wife, Mylah Roque, just days after it was granted—jeopardizing their long-awaited family reunion.

Roque, who is currently in the Netherlands, recounted in an interview that his wife waited two months just to secure an appointment at the Dutch Embassy, and another month for the visa to be issued. She was granted a two-year visa, which Roque initially celebrated.

“I told her, ‘Ang galing mo, two years ang visa na naibigay sa ’yo,’” Roque said.

But the celebration was short-lived. Only days after receiving the visa, Mylah was informed via letter that it had been revoked.

“Araw lang ang binilang, dumating ang sulat na nire-revoke ang kaniyang visa,” Roque confirmed.

The lawyer and former Duterte ally now fears the same outcome for the visa applications of his children. “Mawawalay na naman ako sa aking pamilya,” he lamented, as he faces the possibility of prolonged separation.

Roque is still awaiting the result of his asylum request in the Netherlands. Back in the Philippines, he is facing legal trouble for his alleged links to human trafficking tied to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs). He currently has a standing arrest order after failing to appear before a House inquiry involving POGO firm Lucky South 99, where he reportedly served as legal counsel.
