Harold Alarcon, a basketball player for the UP Fighting Maroons, recently addressed a viral Facebook post by an account named “Jude Bacalso,” which falsely included his photo among Bacalso’s “achievements.”
It is unclear whether Bacalso himself manages the Facebook account or if someone else is behind it. Bacalso gained notoriety after an incident where he allegedly made a waiter in Cebu City stand up after being called “sir,” sparking online backlash. Despite issuing a public apology, Bacalso continues to face criticism from netizens.
Alarcon shared the controversial Facebook post, making it clear he had no connection to Bacalso. He also reassured his girlfriend, Rona Mae Doromal, a volleyball player for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, with a straightforward message: “Roma Mae lang po jowa ko. Stop spreading wrong information. Thanks boss.”
