Dubai authorities have sentenced a Gulf national woman, identified as R.H., to six months in prison for multiple offenses, including public intoxication, causing a disturbance, and assaulting police officers. The Dubai Criminal Court also imposed a fine of Dh20,000 and ordered her deportation after serving her sentence.
According to a Gulf News report, the incident occurred when police responded to reports of a public disturbance caused by the intoxicated woman. Upon arrival, officers attempted to control the situation, but she turned aggressive, physically attacking and verbally abusing them.
Following an investigation, the Dubai Public Prosecution charged her with criminal and civil violations, emphasizing the UAE’s strict laws against public disorder and assaulting law enforcement personnel. The court’s verdict underscores the country’s commitment to maintaining public order and protecting its officers.
R.H. later claimed on social media that the charges against her were unjust. However, authorities confirmed she was heavily intoxicated at the time of her arrest and had engaged in disruptive behavior. The case’s civil aspects have been referred to the appropriate court for further proceedings.
Dubai prosecutors reiterated that the law applies equally to all individuals, regardless of nationality, and violations will be met with legal consequences.
