The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is set to roll out a new loan offering, called the Multi-Purpose Loan Lite, by October. This initiative aims to provide small loans ranging from P5,000 to P50,000 to its members.
GSIS President and General Manager Arnulfo Veloso likened the loan to a “diet,” explaining its purpose for emergency financial needs. “Para pong diet. Ito iyong kapag mayroon po kayong mga emergency na small amounts na kailangan po na mabayaran,” Veloso stated in an ABS-CBN News report. The loans will have a repayment term of up to one year, with funds being quickly accessible to members’ accounts.
In addition to the new loan offering, Veloso announced that GSIS is planning to develop several vacant properties for government housing. He revealed that plans are underway for the construction of three high-rise condominium buildings in Fairview, Quezon City, and Cogeo, Antipolo.
Furthermore, Veloso highlighted the agency’s advancements in digitizing its services, with almost 99 percent of processes now online. One of the notable digital services is the Annual Physical Identification Revalidation (APIR), allowing retirees to revalidate their pensions via mobile phones.
To enhance convenience, GSIS has partnered with payment gateways like PayMaya, enabling members to make payments using their mobile phones.
