A video featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned Portuguese footballer and captain of Al Nassr, greeting Manny Pacquiao, the former Filipino boxing champion, has taken the internet by storm.
This memorable interaction took place at the ‘Battle of the Baddest’, an event that inaugurated the fourth edition of the Riyadh Season, featuring a match between British boxer Tyson Fury and MMA ex-world champion, Francis Ngannou.
In the viral clip, a cheerful Ronaldo can be heard calling out “Hey Pacquiao!” before they exchange pleasantries and pose for pictures. Although their conversation couldn’t be heard, Pacquiao seemed to crack a joke, eliciting a genuine chuckle from Ronaldo.
The video, shared on both Manny Pacquiao’s and TNT Sports Boxing’s Instagram accounts, received immense love and admiration from fans worldwide. One fan commented, “Look at how Ronaldo is giving him respect and shows that he is a fan, even as probably the most recognized athlete/person today.”
Others observed a role-reversal, noting that while most approach Ronaldo first, in this instance, the football superstar took the initiative, a testament to his respect for Pacquiao.
Pacquiao further celebrated the meeting by posting additional photos on his social media platforms.
