Gerald Anderson has shared that while he sees his girlfriend, Julia Barretto, as the right person for him, marriage is not immediately in their plans. Anderson wants Barretto to enjoy her single life for now.
At a launch event for his new drama “Nobody,” Anderson briefly opened up about his relationship with Barretto when asked if he considers the actress to be “the right somebody” for him.
“Of course. We’ve been together for five years. But her moment right now, let her enjoy. Let’s not rush things,” Anderson said. He emphasized, “She’s very special to me. That will never change.”
The actor’s remarks come after the success of Barretto’s recent film, “Un/Happy For You,” a project where she reunited with her ex-boyfriend, actor Joshua Garcia. The film has achieved impressive box office results, grossing P320 million worldwide, according to a report from ABS-CBN News.
Anderson praised Barretto’s talent, noting that her hard work deserves recognition. “I’m so proud of her. She worked hard for it. I haven’t seen it, but she’s amazing… It’s her moment, it’s long overdue. For me, she’s one of the best — if not the best — of her generation, with so much more to show,” he added.
